Walk, Wag & Wind Down

We’re proud to be a dog-friendly pub, so four-legged walking companions are always welcome. Whether you’re heading out for a gentle stroll or a relaxed loop through the forest, you can plan your route knowing there’s a friendly pub waiting at the end.

Our walking map is all about encouraging people to explore the local area — especially the beautiful edges of Epping Forest — and make The Victoria Tavern your destination.

The map shows the immediate area around the pub and into Epping Forest. If you would like to use a pre-arranged route, then why not try one of our online map routes. As time goes by, we will be adding more routes.

Route One: Loughton Station to Victoria Tavern

A lovely point-to-pint walk.

Starting at Loughton Station, this route takes you through the edge of town towards Epping Forest, passing through Stubbles open area before heading into the forest itself.
You’ll return via Loughton Brook, finishing right here at The Victoria Tavern — your well-earned destination.

Perfect if you’d like to start and finish at the pub.

This short circular walk begins at The Victoria Tavern, heading into Epping Forest and along Loughton Brook.
You’ll return past the Staples Road flood storage reservoir before making your way back for a drink, a catch-up, and perhaps something to eat.
